Exhibition Reception
Thursday, January 16, 2025, 5:00-7:00pm
Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art WSU
Join the museum and WSU Department of Art faculty on Thursday, January 16, 2025 from 5:00-7:00pm to celebrate the opening of Your Collection: Faculty Remix. For this exhibition, in continuing recognition of our 50th anniversary year, studio art faculty have been invited to collaborate by responding to works from the museum’s permanent collection. This exhibition and accompanying reception represent a continuation of the five-decade history and partnership between the museum and the Department of Art at WSU. Take this opportunity to mingle with the faculty artists, view the updated Your Collection exhibition, and enjoy appetizers and live music.
Live music will be offered by the WSU School of Music. The Equinox Brass Quintet will preview pieces from their January 24 Faculty Artist Series Performance. The quintet includes Dr. Chris Dickey, Sam Exline, Dr. Martin King, Dr. Sarah Miller, and Dr. David Turnbull. Additional music will be provided by Dr. Aaron Hill on saxophone.
Before the reception, from 4:00-5:00pm, join Dr. Hallie Meredith, Assistant Professor of Art History, for a Community Perspectives Tour of select works of glass in the museum’s collection. This tour begins in the Samuel E. Smith Center for Undergraduate Education (Level 2 Atrium).
