DESCRIPTION:On Friday\, October 30\, join us for a special Community Perspectives Talk about the making of “Unearthed” and other works by Jonathon Follett of the Walla Walla Foundry.\nCOMMUNITY PERSPECTIVES TALK: The Making of Unearthed and Other Works: \nA Conversation with Jonathan Follett of the Walla Walla Foundry\n4:00 pm – 5:00 pm\nJordan Schnitzer Museum of Art WSU \nJoin Jonathan Follett\, President of the Walla Walla Foundry\, to learn about the fabrication of Unearthed (a work in progress) by artist Jim Hodges. Unearthed is a monumental bronze cast of an uprooted tree stump\, created at the foundry in 2019. Follett will also highlight additional projects his organization has produced in the last decade as the Walla Walla Foundry has become one of the largest contemporary art fabricators in the world. \nUnearthed is on view in the Pavilion Gallery through June 26\, 2027. \nCommunity Perspectives Talks & Tours invite individuals from our campus and wider community to speak about their unique interpretation of several works in the current exhibitions\, charting connections among art\, personal experience\, and different disciplines. \nAbout | Originally founded in 1980 as a bronze casting foundry\, the Walla Walla Foundry produces work in a range of materials and through multiple processes. The foundry casts in various alloys\, including bronze\, copper\, brass\, stainless steel\, silver and zinc. It also produces work in wood\, resin\, glass\, and wax. It houses an advanced technological infrastructure encompassing a digital design and modeling department\, high resolution 3D scanning\, CNC machines\, and high precision water jet cutting services. \nImage | Walla Walla Foundry \nLocation & Parking\nThe Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art WSU is located in the Crimson Cube (on Wilson Road across from Martin Stadium and the CUB) on the WSU Pullman campus.
