DESCRIPTION:A Night of Original Student Music at the Museum by WSU’s Digital Audio Collective.\nThursday\, February 5th from 5:00 to 6:30PM\nJordan Schnitzer Museum of Art WSU \nJoin us for an evening of original music at the museum featuring artists from the Digital Audio Collective. DAC is a registered student organization at Washington State University that supports students creating and performing across hip-hop\, electronic music\, DJ performance\, and vocal performance. DESCRIPTION:Join us the second Saturday of every month\, October through June*\, for a story hour and family-friendly activities.\nSaturday\, February 14\, 2026\nJordan Schnitzer Museum of Art WSU \nA featured children’s book will be read at 10:00am\, followed by a short discussion or tour\, then a hands-on activity for young learners K-5 and their caregivers. All ages are welcome to join. Drop in anytime between 10:00am and 12:00pm\, but arrive at 10am for the story! SUMMARY:2026 | COMMUNITY PERSPECTIVES TOUR with Quilter Rochelle Smith
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Saturday\, February 28 for a tour with librarian Rochelle Smith for a quilter’s perspective on current exhibitions\nSaturday\, February 28\, 2026\, 12:00-1:00pm\nJordan Schnitzer Museum of Art WSU \nJoin Rochelle Smith for a quilter’s perspective on select works in Color Outside the Lines\, From the Collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and His Family Foundation. The exhibition includes two textile works using quilting and appliqué techniques by artists Faith Ringgold and Christopher Myers. Open discussion among tour participants will be encouraged throughout the tour\, facilitated by guest Rochelle Smith and Kristin Becker\, Curator of Education & Programs. \nAbout the Speaker | Rochelle Smith is a librarian working with the humanities\, art\, and architecture departments at the University of Idaho.  She is also a published poet and essayist\, and is currently working on a nonfiction book about mythology.  An avid quilter\, knitter\, spinner and mender\, she has been doing patchwork since she was twelve and has been a Faith Ringgold fan for over thirty years. \nCommunity Perspective Tours invite individuals from our campus and wider community to speak about their unique interpretation of several works in the current exhibitions\, charting connections among art\, personal experience\, and different disciplines. \nImage | Christopher Myers\, A Story Falls Into the Ocean\, 2019\, 118 x 224 in.\n© Christopher Myers 2019.
