SUMMARY:2013 Master of Fine Arts Thesis Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:The Washington State University Museum of Art is excited to share the talents of MFA graduate candidates in our upcoming Master of Fine Arts Thesis Exhibition\, April 5 – May 4. The world class faculty at WSU encourage the MFA candidates to become more confident and articulate in their convictions. We\, at the Museum of Art/WSU\, confidently present this year’s graduate thesis work in hopes that undergraduate students\, first year graduate students and anyone willing to be moved by art while spending time at WSU will find it a fun and stimulating experience.” \nTo learn more about the art of the 2013 Master of Fine Arts candidates: Meghan Flynn\, Meghan Hedley\, Catherine Jensen\, Jennifer Saracino\, Lisa Soranaka\, Austin Stiegemeier\, please visit the museum website at museum.wsu.edu. \nThe Museum of Art is committed to the idea that a museum has a responsibility to recognize the creative talent of its region. Chris Bruce\, Director of the museum adds\, “Exposing our audience to the culmination of two or more years work from our graduate candidates enriches the community life of Washington State University by providing meaningful encounters with creativity and innovation. Our over-arching goal is to create life-long learners who can seek out divergent opinions\, examine complex issues from a variety of perspectives and find meaning in the world.” \nThe Museum of Art is located on Wilson Road across from Martin Stadium in the Fine Arts Center on the WSU Pullman campus. Gallery hours are Monday – Saturday\, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.\, open until 7 p.m. on Thursdays and closed on Sundays. For more information please contact the museum at (509) 335-1910.

SUMMARY:Please Participate! Memorial Tribute 4/9 for Curator Keith Wells
DESCRIPTION:MEMORIAL TRIBUTE\nIn Memory of Keith Wells\nCurator\, Museum of Art/WSU \nAs you have probably heard by now\, our dear curator Keith Wells passed away unexpectedly in February. We are hosting a Memorial Tribute in memory of Keith on Tuesday\, April 9th at noon in the Museum of Art Gallery and would like to invite everyone who knew Keith to attend and\, if you wish\, to bring a remembrance to share. \nSomething simple but meaningful might be: quotes\, memories of Keith\, small drawings or paintings\, photos\, and good wishes for Keith’s wife Alma and his kids Levi and Bronté. \nWe’d love to make this a celebration of Keith’s life. There will be a large bulletin board in the gallery on which we will display our memories. \nPlease feel free to share this and invite anyone else who may have known Keith. We would like to make this a true celebration of his life and of his contribution to the Fine Arts Department and the Museum. \nThank you\, and we are looking forward to seeing you on Tuesday\, April 9th at noon. \nContact: Debby Stinson debby_stinson@wsu.edu
