DESCRIPTION:Join Printmaking Professor Kevin Haas for a tour of select works in the current exhibitions\nFriday\, January 31\, 2025\, 12:00–1:00pm\nJordan Schnitzer Museum of Art WSU \nJoin Professor Kevin Haas for a printmaker’s perspective on select works in the current exhibitions\, especially the series of screenprints by artist Ed Ruscha titled News\, Mews\, Pews\, Brews\, Stews & Dues (see Stews in the museum’s permanent collection database). Haas will also offer an overview of printmaking and print publishing\, and open discussion among tour participants will be encouraged. \nAbout | Kevin Haas is a contemporary artist who works in printmaking\, drawing\, and design. He is known for his prints in muted colors and coarse halftones\, fragmented text phrases\, and large print installations. Haas’s ongoing work explores themes of creative effort and permanence amid uncertainty and anxiety. Haas has exhibited extensively around the United States and Canada and his work has also been recognized through participation in prestigious artist residencies. Since 2000 he has taught courses on printmaking\, design\, and book arts at Washington State University\, where he coordinates the printmaking studios and the Bookforms Library.
